We recommend that you set your receiver to the highest resolution that your TV can display.

To set your TV’s resolution:

  1. Press the MENU button on the FibreOP TV remote. The Menu screen appears.
  2. Press the right-arrow button on the remote to scroll to Settings.
  3. Use your right-arrow button to scroll to Television.
    • Use your down-arrow button to scroll to Screen aspect ratio and high definition.
    • Press the OK button on your remote.
  4. Use the right-arrow button on the remote to scroll over to the resolution options.
    • Use the down-arrow button on the remote to select the highest resolution setting that your TV can display. If you are not sure of your TV resolution, select the highest resolution (Either 1080i or 1080p will appear in the resolution options, depending on your receiver). The receiver will perform a test to ensure your TV can display that resolution.
    • Press the OK button on the remote
  5. Press the OK button on the remote to continue.
  6. The Aspect ratio and high definition start-test screen appears. Press the OK button on the remote.
    • Note: This test checks that your TV is capable of displaying the selected resolution. It will take approximately 15 seconds and the screen may turn black during this time.
  7. If you are able to display the selected resolution, a screen will appear to confirm this. Use your down-arrow to scroll to Keep Setting and press the OK button on the remote.
    • Note: To change your resolution setting you must select Keep Setting within the 15 second test-time.
    • If your TV is unable to display the selected resolution or if you take longer than 15 seconds to select Keep Settings, you will see the following screen.
    • Use the down-arrow button on the remote to select one of the following:
  8. I saw a black screen. Choose another setting.: Select this option if you saw a black screen during the test. This indicates that your TV is not able to display the selected resolution. You will have the option to select a new resolution and then test it.

    Start test again: Select this option if you took longer than 15 seconds to select the Keep Settings option. The test will run again for the resolution that you last-selected.

  1. Press the MENU button on the FibreOP TV remote. The Menu screen appears.
  2. Press the right-arrow button on the remote to scroll to Settings.
  3. Press the arrow button on your FibreOP remote to scroll down to and select On-screen language.
  4. Press the arrow button on remote to select your language of choice (English or French).
  5. Press your arrow button to scroll to and select Save.
  6. Press the OK button on the remote.
  7. Your preferred language displays in the TV guide.
Are you trying to watch a sporting event on any of the following channels? Sportsnet, NFL Sunday Ticket, NHL Center Ice, Speed, or TCM.

Sporting event blackouts: Some programs, especially sporting events, may be blacked out because Fibe TV does not have the rights to broadcast the particular event in your area. Usually, this is due to restrictions set forth by the league or broadcaster.

To view a game that has been blacked out due to imposed restrictions, try changing to a national network like NBC, ABC, CBC or TSN / TSN2.

Prompted for parental control PIN when trying to watch TV?

This indicates that a parental control lock hs been placed on these channels.

To enter your PIN:

  • Enter your parental control PIN using the number pad on your Fibe remote. If you have not changed your parental control PIN, the default is 1234.
  • Press OK on your remote.
  • You channel content displays after successful entry of your PIN.

Are all TVs in your household experiencing the same problem?

  • Reboot your modem - There may be an issue with your Fibe connection. A reboot of your modem may help resolve the problem.
  • To reboot your modem:
    • Push the power button on your Fibe modem or unplug its power cord.
    • Wait 30 seconds.
    • Push the power button again or plug the power cord back into the modem. Try your TV again. If the problem persists, please contact us for help.
  • Reboot your receiver
    • Press and hold-down the green POWER button on the front of your TV receiver for 5 seconds (until the red, green, and blue lights come on).
    • Wait a few minutes for the reboot to take place. You may see a black screen during this time.
    • Once the reboot completes, content from the channel that you last viewed appears.
    • If the problem persists, please contact us for help.
Television signal has been lost. Please try viewing another channel ...' error message
  • Reboot your modem
    • There may be an issue with your Fibe connection.
    • A reboot of your modem may help resolve the problem.
  • To reboot your modem:
    • Push the power button on your Fibe modem or unplug its power cord.
    • Wait 30 seconds.
    • Push the power button again or plug the power cord back into the modem.
    • Try your TV againIf the problem persists, please contact us for help.
'Quit client' error message

There are several things that could be causing this problem.Please answer the questions to determine the cause — so we can suggest an appropriate solution.

Have you experienced a recent power outage?

  • Yes
    • Reboot your receiver
    • Reboot your modem

If the problem persists, please contact us for help.

  • No: are all the TVS in your household experiencing the same problem?
    • Yes reboot your modem
    • No- Check cabling, it is possible that the cables connecting your Fibre Receiver to your TV haves become disconnected.

Use the search function in the on-demand library to find specific on-demand events, movies, TV shows and series:

  1. Press the ON DEMAND button on your FibreOP remote.
  2. Use the down-arrow button on the remote to scroll to Search.
  3. Press the OK button. An alphabet grid appears.
  4. Use the arrow buttons on the remote to key in the letters in the title of your show. A movie or show-list displays.
  5. Use the right-arrow button on the remote to scroll to your movie or TV show in the list of titles.
  6. Press the OK button to select it.
  7. On the Summary information screen, you can select one of the following options:
    • Rent (arrow): To order this movie or program and have the charge added to your monthly bill
    • Trailer (film): To watch a trailer of this movie or program
    • Wishlist (star): To add this movie or program to your list to watch / rent later
